About The Kayak Coach

I started kayaking in 1993 and instantly fell in love with the sport. I worked through the BCU star awards and it wasn’t long until I started volunteering as an assistant coach at my local kayak club. I got more and more involved with kayaking and helping to run my local club. I particularly love introducing people to the sport and helping them improve in their chosen discipline. When I’m not coaching I love to go to Bude for surf kayaking weekends, North Wales for a white water trip, kayak fishing, and canoeing along a flat bit of water on a lovely summer's day.

Thekayakcoach works with local schools and members of the public, offering a range of Paddlesport Coaching. From a low key beginning Thekayakcoach has expanded and now offers coaching throughout Sussex and Surrey. There is regular kayak or canoe coaching in Brighton, Eastbourne, Shoreham, Reigate and Crawley. In the summer of 2010 I am proud to be running a number of summer camps for local school children offering kayak/canoeing, mountain biking and camp craft skills.
